LC v LEWIS = LvL1

This is the debut appearance for both these boys and what a contrast in appearance they make. LC is rather the shorter, he’s of stocky build with a tanned complexion and a few tattoo’s. Lewis is rather tall, very slim and of pale complexion. They wear, however, similar gear. Well similar in so far as both sport square cut trunks. LC in blue with yellow decals and Lewis in white with black detailing and horizontal vented slits at the sides – interesting! The match takes place within the usual blue mat room and exceeds 30 minutes’ duration being filmed over a number of rounds each of which ends with a submission.

This encounter starts with a handshake - willingly from both participants. Early advantage is with LC who immediately shows us he is able to move seamlessly from move to move - he looks experienced in his craft. LC rolls Lewis into a boston crab but doesn’t quite give it sufficient pressure to illicit a score and Lewis is free again, they shake again. Is this going to be a fair and close contest?

The youtube clip of this match gained much praise for the varying attributes of these two and an early demonstration of what people praised comes around 3:30 when LC takes Lewis into a head scissors. This is firmly applied with LC’s firmly muscled thighs and has Lewis gasping and writhing to escape. Lewis succeeds in getting free in a, surprisingly quick 30 seconds or so but LC is even quicker in regaining control and Lewis is the first to tap out after about 5½ minutes of the match.

The match restarts with another quick handshake and then we’re off. LC is looking confident as he takes Lewis’s head under his armpit but Lewis has designs on LC’s knees and soon has the muscle boy down on the mat and heading for a boston crab of his own. It’s more successful though and LC now taps out to make honours even.

The next period begins with another handshake – it’s going well! A reciprocated waist hold produces a stale mate but LC releases and goes behind for a full nelson but, lo, Lewis knows that trick too! Their handsome features and good dentistry is displayed in turn.

There now follows a period of to and fro action which is shared fairly equally between the two. Things are warming up literally and metaphorically. As they begin to perspire Lewis may regret his choice of kit! This period ends with LC taping out and allowing Lewis into the lead.

As they come together again and move around the room Lewis actually turns his back on LC. This could be considered a bit cocky as he’s only leading by 2 to 1 but LC does not take this opportunity to attack. Indeed it is Lewis who appears to have the upper hand at this stage and quickly has LC down on the mat and elicits another tap out. This makes it 3 to Lewis and 1 to LC if I’m counting it correctly.

Well that’s about the half way mark and, as far as I can tell, the whole match id filmed without any edit breaks. The wall clock lends veracity to that statement. This is testament to the director and participants. So, will Lewis maintain the advantage over an opponent who, to me anyway, seems to have superior physicality and technique? Will LC bring out his muscular moves and come back to win over his taller opponent? You’ll have to buy it to see!
