Folks, just a kindly reminder that if you want to do a custom video with your favorite wrestlers, don't expect they'll stand for being paid minimum wage.
There are a few custom requests right now in the general queue that will probably stay there because of unrealistic expectations. $30 for a 30 minute match... seriously?!
Remember you're not only hiring the talent, but you're funding every aspect of the production:
- The Videographer
- Time & Travel
- Editing
- Props, if a scenario is involved
- Wardrobe cleaning and wear and tear. Most times it's just underwear but if you're doing something requiring a costume, that will need to be either rented or purchased.
- Watchfighter's cut which pays for the video hosting on their site.
Be honest about what you're available to afford and respect the talent and everyone else associated with the project.
Be respectful in negotiations, but never say never. Make sure that you ask those involved if they can come down in price, but for goodness sakes, don't lowball them.
If you want a premium video, be prepared to pay premium prices.
